Kilbey-Chrisler papers, 1838-1854.

This collection consists of a deed, a list, and letters apparently relating to the Kilbey and Chrisler families of Kentucky. The list names Sarpedon's colts that won various races from 1838-1840. A letter, dated [184-], from Isaac N. Palmer of Woodford County, Kentucky, to Col. John Kilbey of Scott County, Kentucky, discusses ailments and treatments for horses. The 1844 deed was between John and Elizabeth Spencer of Bourbon County, Kentucky, and their daughter, Louise Sophronia Benton of Montgomery County. Two letters, dated 1848 and 1849, by Julia A. Chrisler of Boone County, Kentucky, are addressed to Mary Beal of Huntsville, Missouri, and discuss news of family and friends. Also included is a typed copy of an 1854 letter from James M. Kilbey of Fayette County, Kentucky, to Capt. John Stringer and concerns livestock.
